I know we shouldn’t wish our life away but as soon as Boxing Day is over, I’ve mentally zapped to 2024.

If I could wiggle my nose like Samantha in Bewitched, decorations would be flying in unison back into their stackable boxes and into the loft. With the hatch shut I’d be a couple of fireworks away from seeing in the New Year and getting on with it.

I feel strangely good about 2024 – my kitchen will be finished! But also 2023 was very much a year for sorting out. I was lucky enough to rid myself and our family of things that were holding us all back – let’s call it a bit of life editing. So, 2024 is already beginning on a sounder, stronger footing.

I’m loving the ideas for New Year brunch, but if you overdo the fizz on New Year’s Eve and getting your act together by 11am is too much there’s always lupper – an amalgamation of lunch and supper, a favourite of the Turner/ Armstrong family. Eating around 4pm means you don’t get night munchies so it’s positively healthy!
