◆ Amazon Prime. Right now you can get a 30-day free trial for Amazon Prime. This includes the Prime Video channel with lots of great shows and movies. Sign up now and it will last you until early New Year. But remember to cancel or you’ll end up paying a monthly subscription – set a reminder on your phone or calendar.

◆ Disney Plus. This is a great one for all the family and you can snap up a three month subscription if you shop at Tesco. Swapping £12 of Clubcard vouchers gets you a 3-month membership (usual cost £7.99).

◆ BritBox UK. The site for all those classic “watch again” TV box sets, you can enjoy a free 7-day trial before its monthly £5.99 fee kicks in. If you time it right, you could have free shows to last over Christmas.

◆ Apple TV. You can also get a free 7-day trial with Apple TV – beyond that it’s £8.99 a month. And if you buy any Apple device, you’ll get a three-month Apple TV subscription included, with 90 days to redeem your code. However, be careful. You’ll need to provide payment details when you sign up, and agree to auto-renewal, which means it’s your responsibility to cancel. In other words, unless you cancel the service before your trial ends, monthly payments will be taken automatically.

SUE’S TIPS:

◆ Make a note of when any trial ends and set a reminder to cancel several days before if you don’t want to continue.
