Just for a laugh, I’m showing you a picture Mark took of me at our recent date-night dinner. Surrounded by building materials, a cupboard door balanced on a box for a table, candle lit, music on – what could be more romantic?
Well, a new kitchen, actually! The “camping” fun has worn off and I long for a time when dust and drilling are not part of my day.
However, whenever I’m about to have a “pity party” I remind myself of those who have lost or had their home damaged by hurricanes, war, earthquakes and floods and think myself lucky. Having travelled the world, I can honestly say that with all our problems here in the UK, we live in a good country – in fact better than most – and it’s home.
In The Pink
I love pink. I wear it throughout the seasons, and it has a positive effect on everything from my spirit to the way I present myself. As a typical Gemini I struggle with identity and consistency. Once I thought I should adopt a tonal look of taupe, white, cream, black, grey, navy etc. I thought removing colour would make getting ready easier and I’d look sophisticated.
It didn’t work. I felt wrong – not me. I need a splash of colour; it brightens your mood and makes you look so much better in a picture. So channel your inner Barbie whenever you can.
