3 With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to have a clear-out of your kitchen cupboards and larder. Donate in-date but unwanted tinned foods and unopened products to your local food bank to help others.

4 Offer up your seat on a crowded bus or train to someone who may need it more.

5 Jot down happy or loving messages on colourful sticky notes and sneak them into your family and friends’ bags and books to spring a cheerful surprise on them when they least expect it.
