A happy birthday to Meryl Streep, who turns 75 on June 22, and is regularly – and deservedly – described as the best actress of her generation.

Famous for her uncanny gift for accents and her 21 Oscar nominations over four decades (she’s won three), Meryl will always hold a place in our hearts as Donna from Mamma Mia – her version of The Winner Takes It All will never be bettered!

We’re Breathing…

Gulps of clean, fresh air as we celebrate Clean Air Day on June 20.

Organised by Global Action Plan, this is the UK’s largest air pollution campaign which aims to encourage people to think about the environment and ways to improve it.

Air pollution causes up to 36,000 deaths a year in this country so let’s all do more to keep it clean, even if it’s simply not using the car for a day or two each week. Breathe easy, folks . . .

We’re Awake…

For hours on June 20, as we enjoy the sunshine (hopefully!) on the longest day of the year, which this year also happens to be the official start of British summer time.

The sun rises early and sets late on this particular day so make the most of it by getting outdoors, soaking up some rays and maybe even watchin the sunset – all excellent pursuits!
