As Valentine’s Day approaches, we take a look at the sentimental stars who proposed or got married on the most romantic day of the year

ENGAGED HARRISON FORD AND CALISTA FLOCKHART
Harrison proposed in 2009 while on a family holiday with Calista and her son Liam, now 23.
The actor, 81, and actress, 59, had been dating for seven years after meeting at the 59th Golden Globe Awards.
The Hollywood stars didn’t waste any time tying the knot and said “I do” in New Mexico in June 2010.
It was Harrison’s third marriage and Calista’s first. The Star Wars legend was married to Mary Marquardt from 1964 until 1979 and they have sons Benjamin, 57, and Willard, 54, together. He went on to wed Melissa Mathison in 1983 until their split in 2000.
Melissa, who died in 2015, was the mother to his son Malcolm, 36, and daughter Georgia, 33.
ENGAGED JADE EWEN AND DANIEL DE BOURG
Former Sugababes singer Jade, 36, was thrilled to announce that her actor boyfriend Daniel, 47, had proposed in 2018.
It’s believed they met while performing in Aladdin in the West End. Before joining the Sugababes, Jade represented the UK at Eurovision. Daniel appeared on The X Factor in 2007 in Louis Walsh’s over-25s category.
ENGAGED KATY PERRY AND ORLANDO BLOOM
Three years after they got together at a Golden Globes after-party, Orlando popped the question to Katy in 2019. The singer showed off her pink diamond engagement ring on Instagram as and wrote, “In bloom.” Orlando, 47, and Katy, 39, who are yet to tie the knot, went on to welcome their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020. They said they were “floating with love and wonder” after her “safe and healthy arrival”. Katy was married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, while Orlando was married to Australian model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013 and has a son, Flynn, 13, with her.
ENGAGED CHRISTINA AGUILERA AND MATTHEW RUTLER
Singer Christina, 43, got engaged to guitarist Matthew a decade ago after meeting on the set of 2010 film Burlesque. Announcing the news, she shared a photo of the ring on social media and wrote, “He asked and I said…”
The proposal came exactly three years after her divorce from Jordan Bratman was finalised. The former spouses have a 16-year-old son Max.
