Abbie Holborn isn’t one for holding back – she’s known for tashing on, speaking her mind and causing chaos with TV bestie Chloe Ferry on Geordie Shore.

But beneath the surface and despite baring all on camera, the 26-year-old is actually a bit of a sensitive soul.

“I am a party girl but I’m also a total home bird too,” she exclusively tells new. Just a few months ago, Abbie announced on social media that she was beginning to lose her hair. In an exclusive chat with

new, the Middlesbrough-born star reveals it was down to the stress of working in the entertainment industry and battling with trolls on social media, teamed with the constant use of hair extensions.

“It took me a lot to post that video. I had it saved in my drafts for days,” she explained. “But I also wanted to show the reality of what I was going through. We can all get caught up in only sharing the good things in life.”

“Someone then wrote on Twitter, ‘You’d think she’d have enough money to be able to afford to get her hair done properly.’ That was tough.”

Abbie confesses to having relied on extensions for years to conceal her bald patches, but has now been getting micro-pigmentation at a specialist clinic.

“It’s a bit of a vicious circle, isn’t it? I was advised to not use extensions but, being on TV, I wanted to look my best. Now I’ve changed my mindset and put my health first and that’s helped my confidence.

“I now leave the house with just my natural hair pulled up in a bun. I no longer feel that pressure to look perfect all the time.”

And speaking of television appearances, the aspiring DJ was back on our screens this year when she returned for the latest series of Geordie Shore.
