Actress and presenter Emily Atack is “nesting and resting” as she counts down the days to the arrival of her first child.

The former Inbetweeners star, who is in the final stretch of her pregnancy, is making all the preparations ahead of her due date in April.

Emily, 34, who showed off her bare baby bump at a Soap & Glory launch event last week, is taking time to relax before life becomes full-on and the sleepless nights kick in, a source exclusively told new.

“Emily is trying to take it easy now because she knows once the baby comes, it’ll be manic,” they said. “She’s loving being pregnant and has such a good support system around her.”

The source added that Emily, who is expecting the baby with boyfriend Alistair Garner, already has a nursery ready.

“She’s very organised, the house is all sorted and the nursery is done – everything is ready to go now. Her mum [actress Kate Robbins] has been really hands-on in helping her get prepared and Alistair is the perfect person to have by her side.

“It’s always nerve-racking with your first pregnancy, but overall she is feeling good and is more excited than nervous.”

Emily has kept her pregnancy fairly low-key since announcing the news at the end of December in an Instagram post, where she informed her 1.9 million followers that she was “delighted” to be pregnant. Sharing a monochrome snap of herself, she wrote, “Hello everyone, it’s been a little while but I’m back with some news. I’m delighted to share with you all that we’re having a baby! I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time. Please go easy on me. Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting – a bit like when you’ve just stepped off the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.

“I’ve got to know my body on such an insane level. It’s made me appreciate the one I’ve been given so much, I’m doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I’m growing.”

She concluded, “We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons. I’m so happy to be writing all of this to you all. You’ve always stuck by me through the years, do stick around
