As Cat Deeley joins This Morning, she shares her joy for the job – and her former co-star, a source tells new

Cat Deeley is not only thrilled to be stepping into her new role as a full-time presenter on This Morning, she is also said to be over the moon for close friend and former co-host Anthony McPartlin.
Cat has “always remained close” to Ant and Dec and is understood to be delighted at how Ant has turned his life around as he plans to take a pause from prime-time TV to focus on family.
This Morningrecently announced that Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard, 49, and Cat Deeley, 47, will become permanent hosts of the daytime show, making their debut early this month. The pair will front the Monday to Thursday shows, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will continue to present the Friday edition.
Cat is said to be “thrilled” about her new gig at ITV and being closer to her friends after moving back to the UK in 2020, following 14 years living in Los Angeles.
Ant and Dec’s relationship with Cat goes way back to her first TV job as she kicked off her impressive career hosting SM:TV Live alongside the duo in 1998.
A source told new, “Cat is thrilled about her new role at This Morning– and she’s also thrilled to bits for Ant right now.
“The three of them – Cat, Ant and Dec – have always remained so close, from the early days. Ant’s next chapter of his life is all he’s ever wanted and she’s happy that she’s going to be around for it all. It’s likely that we’ll see more of them all together as their relationship is really strong.”
Although Cat will be busy with her new job, Ant and Dec are never too far away from the studios and are currently filming their final season of Saturday Night Takeaway.
Our source continued, “They spend time together outside of work anyway. They regularly meet up with her kids and Ant’s stepkids. Even when she was in America she kept that relationship going.”
Cat is a proud mum to two sons, Milo, eight, and James, five, with her husband of 11 years, comedian Patrick Kielty, 53.
