Coleen Rooney stepped out this week looking better than ever. After putting the drama of the Wagatha Christie trial behind her, she is relishing family life with her husband, ex-footballer Wayne Rooney, and their four sons.
As she attended a glitzy bash in Manchester, Coleen, 37, showed off a fresh, shorter haircut to go with her pink trouser suit.
And it appears that not only is she glowing on the outside – after coming through a turbulent time, things in her personal life are going from strength to strength too.
“Coleen is in a really good place and it shows with her new look. She’s feeling really happy and great and is enjoying life,” a source told new. The mum of four – who shares sons Kai, 14, Klay, 10, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, with Wayne – has been through the wringer during the last few years – mostly due to her court battle with her former WAG pal Rebekah Vardy.
The two women ended up facing each other in court in a civil trial in May 2022, after Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking stories to the press about her. Coleen came out victorious as Rebekah lost her high-profile libel claim against her in July.
After an ordeal that dragged on for almost three years, Coleen, 37, said, “I’ve never been involved in a court case before and I would never wish it on my worst enemy. It was so draining. It was horrible. And it just took time away from my personal life and just being with the kids. It drained me.”
Now that the dust has settled post-trial, our source claims that Coleen, who filmed a Disney+ documentary about her experience titled Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, is “in the best place”.
“She’s finally able to get back to her old self again after all that turmoil,” they said. “She has come so far since the trial and we all saw how tough it was for her in the documentary – it was just hell. Changing her hair is like a statement for a fresh start.”
