Victoria Beckham is about as happy and successful as celebrities come. But as she nears her 50th birthday, she is thought to be feeling conflicted and “panicked” about the milestone, a source has told new. “Victoria has been up and down about turning 50,” the source said.

“Sometimes she’s really embracing it and other times it scares her and she hates the fact she’s going to be in her fifties.”

But the pop star turned fashion designer, whose birthday is on 17 April, has strong support in the form of husband David, who will be entering his fifties next year and is encouraging his wife to take it all in her stride.

“As David and all of her friends and family have told her, there’s nothing she can do about it so she just has to embrace it, which is what she’s trying to do,” continued the source.

Victoria is juggling worries about ageing with thoughts about her four children – Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12 – growing up and flying the nest. With Brooklyn married to heiress Nicola Peltz and living in the US, and Romeo carving out a football career, it feels like a whole new chapter for the whole Beckham brood.

The source said, “The kids are all growing up and having lives of their own and Victoria does pine for those days when they were all young. She also knows that at some point in the future she is going to be a grandma, with Brooklyn and Nicola keen to start a family, and she hates the fact that she could be known as Granny. In her mind, she’s still young enough to be having her own babies.”

Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot in April 2022 in a stunning Palm Beach ceremony, but although the young couple have made no secret of their desire for a big family, Victoria recently said kids aren’t on the cards for them just yet.

Discussing how she feels about becoming a grandmother, she recently recalled a chat she had with US Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, who gave her some inspiration for when it happens.

“The last time I was with Anna, I was like, ‘Anna, what do your grandchildren call you?’ and she said to me, ‘Anna.’ And I was like, ‘Well that is very elegant,’ so maybe I’ll take that route,” she shared, adding, “But it’s not happening just yet.”
