With a few brand new cast members to liven things up, The Only Way Is Essex is back. And one of the newbies is Jodie Wells, who was an extra on the show last series when she started dating James ‘Diags’ Bennewith and locked horns with his ex, former Love Islander Elma Pazar.

Here, Jodie opens up about her romance Diags, the drama between her and Elma and whether she’d ever consider a move from Somerset to Essex…

Hi Jodie! How are you feeling about the drama last series?

I didn’t come into the easiest of situations but I think I did well. It is annoying [the drama with Elma]. It was horrible. It was so mad. It gave me so much anxiety and I was really confused but I’m not holding anything against her. It was a situation we both didn’t want to be in so I hope she is OK. I have heard she has a problem with me still, though. She did know me and James were seeing each other, but it was a long time ago. The whole situation was s**t.

Will you and Elma come face to face and have it out?

I always watched the show on and off and I loved everything about James, he is just so perfect – he literally is. We get on so well; he makes me the happiest I have ever been. It’s really cute and I feel really content. I don’t feel like I have anything to worry about with him. Even with the whole situation with Elma I knew he wouldn’t do anything. I know he loves me, which is a really comfortable place for me. It feels easy because we never argue. Everything is smooth sailing. We weren’t officially together [when the drama happened] – but it happened and it is what it is. It was a long time ago and people make mistakes.

Would you move to Essex?

It’s only a couple of hours away. We see each other nearly every weekend. I have a child so when we see each other, it works. I’d l
