‘i love singing, it’s my real passion’

Heidi Range, best known as a former member of the girl group Sugababes, has been married to property developer Alex Partakis since 2016. The couple, who tied the knot in a lush Florence ceremony, have two daughters – Aurelia, born in 2018 and Athena born in 2021.

Here, the Push The Buttonsinger, 41, opens up about baby plans, renewing her wedding vows and why she’d never say never to a Sugababes reunion.

Heidi, how are things going?

Really good, thank you.

You’re turning 41 this year, yet you haven’t aged a day. What is your secret?

I’ve just plastered the make-up on and he’s done my hair. It helps when your best friend is an amazing hair stylist, so he sorted me out for the night.

Are you going to celebrate your birthday in May?

I’ve got two little girls – I haven’t even thought about my birthday. It feels like it was only yesterday I was planning my 40th.

Would you say this is your best decade yet?

Oh, I love it – I do.

I think you get more confidence in yourself, and you worry less.

Can you imagine ever being back on stage again or releasing more music?

Yes, definitely. Although, since I’ve had the girls, I’ve just wanted to spend time with them and I’ve been lucky enough to take a step back and be at home with them. But when they get a little bit older maybe.

Could you ever see yourself reuniting with the Sugababes?

Who knows? Never say never.

Are you in touch with them at all?

I have been in touch with them, yes, so we’ll see what happens.

There was that rumour recently that you were potentially going to do something with Amelle and Jade?

No, we’re not.

Would you like to do more music, maybe on your own? Would that be an option?

I don’t know. I love singing. That’s my real passion, so I’ll definitely explore opportunities in the future, but with regards to me and Amelle, that’s not in the pipeline.

What else would you like to do this year, any dream projects?

Gosh, just a nice summer holiday at the moment. My two year old was really ill last week, so I’ve been awake through the night for a week and I’m exhausted. So I’m just dreaming of a nice summer holiday.
