Lauren Goodger is on a high right now following her much-anticipated comeback on the show that first made her a star – TOWIE.

However, there is one thing this Essex girl wishes didn’t keep happening. According to a source close to Lauren, she is “fed up” with people dragging up her past with her former fiancé Mark Wright, following her hugely popular return to TOWIE. She moved on a long time ago, they say – and believes it’s high time everyone else followed suit.

Lauren made her dramatic comeback on the latest series of The Only Way Is Essex more than 10 years after becoming a household name during the show’s first ever season.

And viewers who watched Lauren, now 37, in her first scenes will no doubt recall her turbulent relationship with Mark, also 37. These days, Mark is happily married to Fool Me Onceactress Michelle Keegan.

The former couple were childhood sweethearts, who met at the tender age of 15, and dated on and off for 10 years before finally splitting in 2012.

Lauren previously compared the pair’s ill-fated relationship to that of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, saying, “It’s annoying getting dragged into my ex’s life, but I understand it’s a massive part of where we started...

“It’s like other people in the public eye, like Brad and Jennifer. I get it, but it goes over my head now.”

But the source claimed that it remains very “frustrating” for Lauren that people are still talking about her and Mark – a relationship which is very old news for her – and not the only one that meant something to her during her time on the show.

The source also told new that Lauren is embracing an exciting new phase in her life with TOWIEand simply wants to move on.

She recently opened up to fellow OG cast member Amy Childs in a recent scene about how she had got rid of an intimate tattoo she had of Mark’s name – but even then, only because her close friend brought it up.

“Lauren is loving her time on TOWIE. It’s nice to not be involved in all the drama and not have to be in a relationship on the show. She can just be herself and have some fun.”

The star, who is mum to daughter Larose, two, has endured an unimaginably tough couple of years, but is finally coming out the other side. Lauren gave birth to her second daughter, Lorena, in July 2022.
