1 The first photo of a car I ever took, in 1994 when I was seven. I remember walking outside in my socks to take it. With only 24 photos on the film it was a big decision that my mum’s Ford Cortina should be one of them. It’s a bit wonky, but it’s very special, as was the car.

2 Derek Bell MBE bought this for me in Stuttgart’s Porsche Museum gift shop. We were working together on a classic car tour so he knew I’m a big espresso drinker. It’s got his racing car on it: the Porsche 917 No.20. I use it all the time.

3 At the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed I went up the hill on a custom-built Royal Enfield and got this exclusive Drivers’ Club medallion. I often wonder what 12-year-old me would think of what I’m doing now – getting into my racesuit in the changing rooms alongside F1 drivers and MotoGP riders was amazing.

4 On a road trip around Saudi Arabia before it was reopened for tourism I felt compelled to stop the car and get this rock. I’m not a religious person (or interested in geology) but it’s from the gorge that Moses supposedly walked through, having parted the waters to the Canaan peninsular (now KSA).

5 This 1930s Wonder Book of Motors was a gift from my partner Amie and is something I treasure. I often flick through to remind myself why I’m doing what I do.

6 Music was a huge part of day-to-day life growing up and I have happy memories of dancing to Fleetwood Mac and Led Zeppelin. Amie and I now have a place of our own so I can use these Bowers & Wilkins DM601 speakers without fear of
