Michelin-starred chef, pub owner and TV presenter with a penchant for fast cars

1 Although I’ve always been a big fan of cars, I’d never really ‘got’ Porsches. But when someone crashed into my Mercedes-AMG C63 while it was parked, I borrowed a base-level 911 – and that was it. After trying the range, I settled on a Carrera GTS and it’s the one car I will never sell.

2 I was 18 when Marco Pierre White brought out White Heat, a book that changed the world of cookery, with black-and-white images by Bob Carlos Clarke. It influenced me hugely and so I was thrilled to be invited to contribute a quote for this 25th anniversary edition.

3 My wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge is an artist who worked for the great sculptor Sir Anthony Caro for many years. She’s now a highly respected sculptor in her own right and this polished bronze is from her recent Femella exhibition.

4 We have an event company that regularly caters for yachts and terraces at the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s extremely hard work but the energy and atmosphere of the weekend are incredible, and having access to the grid is such a privilege.

5 Another chef – Claude Bosi – and I have been training with a race instructor in a factory race-spec Clio with a view to entering Britcar. We’re all so busy that scheduling time together is hard, but on track is the one place I can escape from the incessant phone calls and emails.
