A dazzling array of A-listers join the Prince of Wales at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the 77th British Academy Film Awards

The 2024 EE Bafta Film Awards saw some of the world’s biggest movie stars descend on London’s Royal Festival Hall. The annual awards ceremony returned as Doctor Who actor David Tennant took on hosting duties, and Hollywood A-listers including Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling enjoyed the glitziest awards night in the British movie calendar.
The glamorous event offered not just fabulous films but stunning outfits, hilarious moments that later went viral – and rumours of famous faces partying the night away together at various swanky after-show dos.
One film swept the board during the ceremony, however – Christopher Nolan’s epic three-hour drama, Oppenheimer, which won Best Film as well as six other gongs, including Leading Actor for Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy.
Poor Things – Yorgos Lanthimos’s quirky fantasy – was also a repeat winner, picking up five awards including Leading Actress for Emma Stone. And Jonathan Glazer’s harrowing film The Zone Of Interest, set in the family home of Nazi officer Rudolf Höss which stood next to the Auschwitz concentration camp, won three awards.
On the red carpet there were fabulous frocks at every turn. Emma dazzled in an orange Louis Vuitton gown with one puff sleeve, and Margot looked gorgeous in a shimmering Barbie-inspired Giorgio Armani Privé pink and black velvet dress. The pair went on to recreate their own version of last month’s viral Golden Globes moment when Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were pictured apparently sharing gossip together. Margot and Emma were snapped on the Baftas red carpet enjoying a moment of animated chat, with Emma looking shocked at whatever Margot had just told her.
Also turning heads at the event were hot couple of the moment, singer Dua Lipa and her boyfriend, Masters Of The Air star Callum Turner. Dua is said to be “head over heels” for the actor, and the pair were spotted later in the evening hand-in-hand leaving an after-party.
Canadian actress Taylor Russell, who is rumoured to be dating pop star Harry Styles, was also at the awards, wearing a white feathered dress by Loewe. But sadly for Harry fans, the singer was not by her side, preferring to watch his beloved Manchester United in action against Luton Town.
