From fashion innovators to life-saving dogs and exceptional volunteers, the royals have been meeting some of Britain’s finest

KING CHARLES

The King read cards and messages from well-wishers at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, following his cancer diagnosis. He also held an audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and attended a Privy Council meeting.

THE DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH

As Patron of London College of Fashion, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the new East Bank campus at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Monday during London Fashion Week. She viewed the Postgraduate Class of 2024 exhibition, showcasing work from their courses – including Fashion Artefact, Fashion Photography, and Costume Design for Performance.

QUEEN CAMILLA

On Tuesday, Queen Camilla held a reception for the 15th anniversary of the Medical Detection Dogs charity at Clarence House. During the reception, the Queen met clients who have medical alert assistance dogs, which are trained to alert them if a life-threatening medical event is about to happen. The Queen met the charity’s supporters, trustees, and watched a demonstration of dogs at work.

Then on Wednesday, the Queen hosted an event for the Colonel’s Fund of the Grenadier Guards at Clarence House, where she chatted with beneficiaries and fund members.

THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH

On Tuesday, the Duke of Edinburgh visited Oxford and spent the first part of the day at the Story Museum where he met staff, artists and visitors. He then went on to tour the Old Fire Station arts centre where he learnt more about the organisation’s partnership with homelessness charity, Crisis, before ending the day at community-owned Flo’s The Place in the Park, which helps to tackle food poverty.
