KING CHARLES

As he continues to focus on his recovery following his cancer diagnosis, King Charles carried out some duties behind the scenes at Buckingham Palace. On Tuesday he held an audience with Korean War veterans, and on Thursday he met the High Commissioners of the Republic of Singapore and the United Republic of Tanzania.

QUEEN CAMILLA

Queen Camilla took centre stage last week as she headed to the Isle of Man on Wednesday to present the Letters Patent conferring city status on Douglas. The capital city was granted the status as part of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

The following day, the Queen arrived in Northern Ireland where she met shopkeepers and members of the public. She was presented with a gift of food favourites at Coffey’s Butchers, including vegetable rolls and beer sausages, and said she would “take these back for my husband, he will make the most of them”. At Knotts Bakery, the limelight shifted to Fitz, the son of the bakery’s owners, who’s nearly two and who confidently smiled for the cameras, much to the Queen’s amusement.

PRINCE OF WALES

Prince William travelled to Sheffield on Tuesday, where he posed for a selfie with a member of the public before attending a Local Coalition meeting at the Millennium Gallery in line with his five-year homelessness project, Homewards.

On Wednesday he visited the Welsh Guards at Combermere Barracks in Windsor to speak with the soldiers, hear plans for their future, and witness the great work the battalion does with physical and mental rehabilita
