This month, it’s 40 years since arguably the most important launch in the history of British off-roading. It was in February 1983 that Land Rover gathered the media together to show off its new 110 – the Series-truck-on-coils from which would one day spring the Defender. As one of the longest-running car magazines in the country, we were there. And our story the event, which we’ve pulled from the 4x4 archives, makes for fascinating reading. So too does the tale of Jeep’s Magneto 2.0 concept car. Would you believe the 2.0 refers to its 0-60 time…?
