When it comes to festive cardmaking, you simply can’t beat a good Christmas character. Kitty Day has assembled some of the best here using a selection of Mama Elephant stamps, on seasonal greetings that take the word cute to a whole new level. What’s more, she’s elevated her makes by bringing in a host of techniques and card shapes, including a 3D box card and a slimline delight. A constant smattering of snow doesn’t hurt either!

Snow is glistening

JOLLY GOOD FUN

Gently blend red distress oxide ink in an ombré style onto a 10cm x 14cm white panel. Attach a star stencil on top and blend red ink through it, increasing the pressure at the top. Glue the panel to a white blank of the same size.

Die cut a sentiment several times from white cardstock, stack together and fix to the card front. Stamp bear and tree motifs, then colour in with alcohol markers and cut out. Adhere to the greeting with 3D foam pads.

INKED BACKGROUND

1 Take a 9cm x 9.5cm white panel and apply blue ink around the edges of a cloud stencil. Repeat several times to create a cloud background. Die cut two hills from white card and glue at the bottom, then layer onto red card and fix to a 9.5cm x 13.5cm white blank.

2 Secure a strip of striped paper, red card and enamel dots below the inked panel. Stamp and cut out your motifs, then colour in with alcohol markers. Add glitter highlights and attach to the card front with 3D foam pads. Stamp and die cut a sentiment, then adhere using 3D foam pads. Embellish the background with clear gems.

BOX CARD BONANZA

1 Using the My Favorite Things box die sets, cut each of the box pieces from red card. Die cut three snow drifts for the middle pieces from white, then die cut green patterned paper to fix to the front and back panels.

Add glitter to the top of each hill and assemble the box with strong glue.

2 Stamp and cut out your motifs, then colour with alcohol markers. Glue the motifs to the middle pieces. Stamp and die cut a sentiment, then attach to the box front with an enamel dot on each side.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Glitter highlights add a touch of flair to a straightforward design

Blend green inks onto an 8.5cm x 15cm white panel, then add splatters with water and white ink. Once dry, glue to a white blank of the same size. Stamp your motifs, then colour in with alcohol markers and trim. Add glitter highlights and fix to the greeting with 3D foam pads. Stamp a sentiment, cut out and add to the card. Glue several clear gems in place to finish.

CIRCULAR BLANK

1 Take a white blank and place an 11cm circle die on top, just overlapping the fold.
