Introducing your... flutter by shaker card kit

5 min read

You’ve got everything you need to master the shaker technique tonight, including handy keep-forever templates

• Your PaperCrafter Gift • Dies, Clearly Besotted Tag Along • Ink pads: Ranger Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade; black • Embellishments: ribbon, twine, blue baker’s twine • Ink blending tool • Adhesives: 3D foam pads, glue • Die-cutting machine

MINI CARD

Craft a mini circular blank using the shaker template in the kit, then mount patterned paper on top. Fix a label topper with 3D foam pads, followed by a stamped sentiment. Arrange flowers and leaves around the edges and fix in place. Finish with three gold sequins.

WREATH SHAKER

Take a square turquoise blank. Matt floral paper and white card on top. Attach acetate behind a wreath topper. Apply 3D foam pads around the edge of the wreath without leaving any gaps, add sequins, then fix yellow card on top to secure and create a shaker. Glue the shaker to the card front with 3D foam pads. Complete with butterfly and bird toppers, then a stamped sentiment.

SQUARE SHAKER

1 Make a square white blank, then matt pink card and blue foliage paper on top. Create a square frame from yellow using the shaker template in the kit. Glue acetate to the reverse, add sequins and run 3D foam pads around the edge, leaving no gaps. Layer pink patterned paper on top to secure the sequins.

2 Glue the shaker frame to the card at an angle and add a sequin in each corner. Fix flower toppers around the frame. Secure a stamped sentiment onto a label topper, then glue to the greeting.

BUTTERFLY WALL HANGING

Create a butterfly shape from card and cover with patterned paper. Apply orange distress oxide ink around the edges. Stamp a sentiment in black, layer onto a label topper and fix to the butterfly with 3D foam pads. Attach ribbon to the back so it falls below the butterfly, then add a loop of twine to the top for hanging. Finish with sequins and two flower toppers.

HEART SHAKER

1 Mount floral paper onto a square pink blank. Trim a smaller square from blue patterned paper, then draw and cut a heart from the centre using the shaker template in the kit – we’ve done ours on an angle. Adhere acetate behind the aperture, then add 3D foam pads around the edge without any gaps.

2 Sprinkle sequins onto the acetate, then layer pink patterned paper on top to secure the sequins. Glue to the card front at an angle, so the heart is straight. Fix a dragonfly topper in the top-right corner. Stamp a sentiment onto white, trim, then secure bottom-left with 3D foam pads. Add a bird and flowers around the sentiment.
