A gardener’s joy

Any gardening friend will love to receive this bright and beautiful easel card. It folds flat for ease of posting, but once propped up will look lovely when displayed.

Trace

Place a piece of plain parchment paper over the pattern and secure in place. With a white pencil or white ink and mapping pen, trace the 3D flowers, square border, arch and water.

With black fine liner pen, trace the rest of the image.

Colour

Working on the back of your work, with Polychromo pencils, colour as follows and blend with Dorso Oil.

Colour the flower petals and watering can with dark cadmium orange.

Colour the leaves with earth green yellowish (Step 1).

Emboss

With a 1mm embossing tool, emboss the outlines of the 3D flowers.

With relevant sized embossing tools, shadow emboss the flower petals, working from the centres outwards, the leaves from the top downwards and the watering can according to the image

With the Pergamano wheel embossing tool, emboss the water.

Perforate/Emboss

With the Pergamano cross perforating tool, shallow perforate along the dashed curve.

With the 1.5mm embossing tool, emboss inside the cross perforations according to Diagram 1.

Re-perforate deeply with the cross perforating tool.

With parchment scissors, cut between the centre cross perforations according to Diagram 1.

With the semi-circle perforating tool, shallow perforate around the square border.

With the 0.5mm embossing tool, emboss inside the semi-circles according to Diagram 2.

Cut

With parchment scissors, cut around the outer semi-circle perorations (Step 2).

Colour

With a sharp dark cadmium orange polychromo pencil, add shading with fine lines to the tips of the small flower petals and the darker areas of the watering can on the front of the design.

In the same way, add earth green yellowish from the bottom of the leaves upwards (Step 3).

3D flowers

With straight scissors, cut out the 3D flowers.

With the 3mm embossing tool, emboss the flower centres from the front.

Layer up the flower pieces, fixing together in the centres with a yellow brad (Step 4).

Greeting

Place a piece of plain parchment paper over the PCA UK Easy Emboss Template ‘Greetings’ and emboss a greeting of your choice

If your choice has perforations, perforate with a 1-needle perforating tool;

Perforate around the outline of the greeting with the 2-needle perforating tool;

With parchment scissors, cut between the 2-needle perforations (Step 5).

With fine orange metallic thread, working through the per
