Circles of love

This relatively simple design is great for when time is of the essense.

Designed by Mary Price

This card doesn’t
have to have a theme of love, why not use the frame and circles as a template to frame other parchment work.

Trace

Trace the outer edges, the heart shapes and the sentiments in white using a pencil or mapping pen and white ink. There is no need to trace the circles.

Remove any visible pencil lines with an eraser

Shallow perforate

Using a thin mat beneath the work, perforate around the inside of each circle with a mini semi-circle tool. Work with your parchment still attached to the pattern to add in the position of the tool.

(NB if you have a PCA mini-scallop tool, this will fit, but remember it is a cutting tool and its use will result in 4 circular apertures. These can be used to place suitable embellishments or photographs on the backing card to give a different look.

Emboss

Emboss the outer edges using a small ball tool and a ruler.

Emboss the sentiments and the outlines of the hearts.

Perforate

Using a shallow mat beneath your work perforate around the outer edges with a semi-square tool.

Emboss

Emboss within the semi-square perforations creating either dots or bars.

Carefully emboss within the mini-semi-circle tools. Avoid too much pressure or you may split the parchment.

Re-perforate

Using a thick mat beneath the work, re-perforate as appropriate.

Perforate within the heart shapes using a 2-Needle tool of either brand.
