Overlooking open fields of prime Lincolnshire growing country, Chloe Jonason’s Georgian farmhouse has proven to be the perfect setting to house a bright and beautiful array of unique textiles, and for Chloe and husband Tom to raise their young family.

Chloe runs her interior design business from the property, creating bespoke homeware and furnishings from the ethically sourced textiles she finds all over the world. The couple also occasionally rent out the house as a holiday let. ‘We often go away at Christmas and the house is popular then, as it’s got a lovely festive feel,’ she says. ‘Some guests commission me to make pieces similar to those they’ve seen during their stay.’

Originally built in the early 1800s, and extended over the years, this family home does indeed make a wonderful showcase for a cornucopia of colourful pieces. There’s plenty of space for Chloe’s treasured collections of one-off antique textiles, including suzanis, kantha quilts and silk lampshades. Many of these pieces are sourced in India and each brings its own unique style. Personality and colour spill out from every room. ‘My approach to interiors is to be brave: don’t be afraid to mix pattern and colour,’ explains Chloe. ‘I love to display an eclectic collection of objects to reflect my personality.’

Aside from throws, cushions and other vintage textiles and accessories, interesting artwork lines the walls and groupings of ceramics add shape and texture to cosy corners. The overall look is one of effortless warmth and singular flair.

A friend tipped off Chloe and Tom about the old farmhouse when they were living with Chloe’s parents, 10 miles away. ‘Having grown up in the area, I knew of the village but it was far enough away from my old stomping ground for it to be a fresh start,’ says Chloe. ‘I loved the house as soon as I saw it. It was in great condition, with beautifully proportioned rooms, bespoke joinery, and lovely brass fixtures and fittings already in place, and a walled garden. So when we bought the house in 2016, we were lucky to get straight to the fun, decorating stage.’

During the lockdowns, Chloe and Tom did lots of small DIY jobs
