B etter lenses take better photos, so make sure you take advantage of the optimum lens processing when capturing and processing your images.

Canon software in-camera and on your computer can apply lens processing to extract the best results, which are free from distortion and optimized for contrast and sharpness.

Canon EOS DSLRs can have up to 40 lens corrections loaded; 20 to 30 of the most common and recent lenses are usually pre-installed. EOS R mirrorless cameras have all the RF lenses’ info, as long as you have the latest camera and

lens firmware installed, and you can add a number of EF lenses’ correction profiles, too.

Most recent EOS cameras have lens corrections enabled by default, but older models may need them to be switched on.

Ensure that lens corrections are applied and you have the profiles in the camera. When using a less common lens, you may need to add a profile to your camera to get the best results. Canon’s free Digital Photo Professional (DPP) software. . Digital Lens Optimizer (DLO) applies the most advanced corrections and is good for improving sharpness as well as simple vignetting, chromatic aberration and distortion corrections. Other imageediting apps’ lens corrections but may have a different result to Canon’s profiles.
