Aiming high

Anthony went in search of kestrels and birds of prey on a recent wildlife shoot overseas

To indulge my passion for wildlife photography I wanted to challenge myself and visit a different country. So I researched areas in Europe which were good for photographing birds of prey and decided on a trip to Germany, on a quest to photograph the Northern Goshawks.

My adventure involved a lot of walking and armed with information from others, I headed to some wasteland and a disused airfield. To my amazement there were lots of kestrels flying around, rather than Northern Goshawks. I thought to myself they would be a great bird to try out my photography skills and walked around to assess the area and to see if any would land.
