Bake from the heart

Get your flour, apron and mixing bowls ready – it’s time to bake!

With National Doughnut Week taking place between 18 and 26 May this year, you can give back to an extraordinary cause – The Children’s Trust – just by baking delicious doughnut treats.

By heading to the National Doughnut Week website, you can register your bakery, coffee shop or even your office to take part – either by donating some of your delicious bakes or throwing a doughnut-tastic office party.

Once registered, you’ll be able to access lots of free, online resources to help promote your business as a charitable doughnut hub, too.

But if you’re not able to register, you can still get involved by finding your local participating bakery on the website to pick up a sweet treat from. And it’ll taste all the sweeter, too, knowing you’re helping raise vital funds to treat children with brain injuries, with every delicious bite.

Fancy flavours

While we’re all familiar with the classic doughnut – a plain, vanilla ring dusted in a light layer of sugar – we’ve recently seen an explosion of whacky flavours from both national doughnut brands and small doughnut businesses.

So, we’ve found some of the most exciting flavours for you to try!

Best known for inventing the sourdough doughnut, Crosstown isn’t afraid to get experimenting with their flavours either.

To celebrate a ‘decade of dough’ for Crosstown’s 10th birthday this year, they’ve launched their special Sea Salt Caramel & Banana Cream doughnut. The perfect blend of salty, sweet and creamy, this brand-new flavour is an unbeatable combination.

And that’s not to mention their other whacky doughnut flavours on their regular menu, from Peanut Butter to Blackcurrant Compote and Cinnamon Scroll.

Plus, Crosstown even create new flavours for special occasions, too– Veganuary this year saw doughnuts in flavours such as Tarragon & Green Apple,

Rose & Pistachio and Cardamon & Coconut join the menu.

So, who knows what daring new flavour they’ll bring to the ring next?

So delicious!

Freshly baked in the heart of Glasgow, Tantrum Doughnuts never compromise on bringing you the best flavours around.

Introducing their special Guinness and Chocolate Pudding brioche doughnut earlier this year, as well as their Treacle Tart Custard doughnut, there’s something exciting for everyone to try.

From Pistachio & Hibiscus to Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Millionaire Crémeux, they’ve got so many flavours to tickle all your tastebuds!
