Pulling up in my sparkly pink wrapped Beetle, I knew what reaction I was going to get.
For it was the same one every single time.
‘There she is, hi Barbie!’ my friends, family and colleagues would tease every time that they saw me.
And they weren’t wrong. The truth is, I’d always been pink and Barbie mad.
Vibrant in personality and colourful in my lifestyle, too, that was just the way that Iwas.
In fact, for my hen party, before tying the knot with Andy, now 47, Imanaged to get everyone dressed as Barbie.
Sporting the finest shades of pink, wearing tutus and tiaras, we even had ahot pink limo to ride into town in style.
And then, Ieven had a subtle nod to Barbie with a baby pink ribbon around my wedding dress with my bridesmaids wearing pink hues, too.

However, instead of turning his nose up, Andy and our daughters Mylee, 13, and Layla, eight, relished in the idea of living in aDreamhouse.
‘Alright Ken?’ Andy’s colleagues tease when he turns up to work.
And being an engineer, he works with all men –but he loves it, playing up to it all.
Posing as Ken with me, even wearing a personalised tee, he doesn’t shy away from aspot of pink.
‘Oh my! It looks amazing, Andy –I thought you said it wasn’t going well?’ Icheered as he showed me his latest project, afew years ago.
Wrapping my grey Beetle in asparkly hot pink vinyl, so I could have my own Barbie car, it really was dreamy.
And Andy isn’t afraid of getting in the driver’s seat.
We often get afew strange looks with other drivers expecting agirl to be behind the wheel –but Andy is sat there happy as Larry instead.
