Gazing in the mirror, there was one thing I wanted to change.

My boobs.

With B cups, they weren’t as perky as I wanted.

Lacking volume, they sagged making me feel unconfident.

You see, I’d been on quite a big weight loss journey.

In April 2021, I’d flown to Turkey to have gastric sleeve surgery. And over the course of two years, I’d lost 6st –going from 16st 12oz to 10st 9oz.

I’d gone from asize 16 to a size 10.

And as aresult, my boobs had been left abit droopy. I’d always wanted aboob job. And looking in the mirror last summer, it felt like the right time.

I wanted perky boobs

Iwould have the whole winter to heal, I thought.

‘I’ve decided I’m getting my boobs done,’ I said to my partner, Bradley, 32.

‘If that’s what you want, it’s up to you,’ he said. ‘Just make sure you’ve done your research and find atop surgeon.’

Initially looking at surgeons in the UK, Iwas quoted over £16,000, which was ridiculous.

But speaking to afew people Iknew, they’d all had great experiences getting breast augmentations abroad.

I’d also been on acosmetic surgery Facebook group for a few years and one surgeon’s name kept coming up –Dr Ahmet Kormutlu at Optimed Hospital in Istanbul.

Researching the facility, Iwas impressed –it looked perfect.

Having aphone consultation on 1August, my mind was made up and Ibooked the procedure for £3,600 that day.

‘I just want natural looking, uplifted, round boobs,’ I’d said.

Sending photographs over to the surgeon, we’d meet and talk through the operation when I got to Turkey.

‘I’ve booked it,’ I said, getting home and telling my mum, Nancy, 55, and dad, Alan, 55. ‘That’s abit soon,’ Mum said. But she knows when Iwant something done, Iwant it done.

Only in August, I bled heavily, basically having two periods.

RUNNING OUT OF TIME

I was impressed by the care

At points bedbound from the pain, Iwas terrified Iwouldn’t be able to fly or have surgery.

I felt so weak and had awful back pain.

‘What if we can’t go?’ I cried to Bradley. Ihad my hopes set on surgery and Iwas so close.

I couldn’t bear falling at the final hurdle.

Speaking to my GP, Iwas given atablet to stop the bleeding and it worked. The bleeding totally stopped. I didn’t tell the GP about my surgery or the clinic about my bleeding –I didn’t want to risk not being able to have it done.

Iknow it was arisky thing to do but after the bleeding stopped, Iput it to the back of my mind.

And so on 4September, Bradley and I flew from Gatwick to Istanbul.
