The festive season is now upon us. It’s great to have time to plan your outfit, decide on your hairstyle and enjoy getting ready. In reality, if you’re anything like me, I find myself short on time or running late. That’s where small additions to your glam kit not only save time, but can give maximum impact.
BE BOLD A bold lip colour, for example red, never lets you down. It will deliver instant va va voom.
DEFINE A sharp eye liner added over the top lash and swept up at the outside edge will define your eyes.
If you have a steady hand, a false lash can work wonders. Not good with a pencil or want a softer version of an eye liner? Spray your angled eye brush with a little sitting spray, dip it into the eyeshadow palette, choosing the colour shade already on the eyelid, and dot along the lash line leaving more depth and intensity.
TIME TO SHINE Sparkle or shimmer will brighten. Add a little to the inner corners of your eye near the nose or, using your finger, press shimmer onto the centre of your eyelid. Applying a cream or beige pencil to the inside bottom lash line will open the eye and hide any redness. Black can also work although I find that it sometimes makes eyes look smaller.
FRESHEN UP A face mist will refresh foundation that has been on all day and can help smooth out where it may have started to sit into fine lines.
POLISH AND GO Add a top coat of quick-drying polish, perhaps as a final touch to avoid smudging.
FINISHING TOUCHES Cordless hair tools are great for smoothing away frizz or re-curling that curl. Dry shampoo and hairspray have helped me many a time when running late – travel sized for the handbag is a bonus.
