‘I enjoyed reading about Kate Humble’s latest adventure’

As a great admirer of the intrepid Kate Humble, I loved reading about her forthcoming hot air balloon trip over the Serengeti National Park. So far, my only experience of such a flight was over a village in North Yorkshire, and I confess to having been terrified the whole time I was up in the air. The pilot and I were alone in a basket little larger than the one I use for laundry, the burner above us scorched my head every time it whooshed, and I’ve never been as grateful in my life to be back on terra firma. ‘HELLO FROM AN AMERICAN FAN OF PLATINUM MAGAZINE’

I was so happy to find out that Platinum was still being published after the earlier news that it was going to be discontinued. I love Platinum… lots of interesting interviews and stories about people struggling with life’s issues. The best thing about Platinum was that it was about real people. It seems to me that you might have been attempting to attract younger readers now with the latest issues. I was an American diplomat in Edinburgh and in London a long time ago and am married to a Scot, so have a real affinity with the Brits and their lives. I am hoping to see a return to some of those values in future issues.

‘A FRESH, BUZZY AND ON-TREND MAGAZINE’

I’ve so enjoyed my first read of Platinum. Fresh, buzzy and on trend compared to the other magazines I’ve been buying for years, which seem to be a bit stale and repetitive these days. I’d love to be one of your ambassadors. I am a freelance writer and live in southwest Scotland. Gillian
