Meet our new ambassadors!

3 min read

So many of you wrote in to be part of our Ambassadors’ Programme, to offer suggestions and help shape the heart of the magazine. Here, we meet a few of our wonderful contributors, and each month we’ll feature their tips and advice.

‘I’m excited to be able to contribute’

Katherine Rawlings, 52, director at Coutts Bank from Oxford.

I read my first issue when I located it in the reception of my hotel in Santorini this summer and was instantly hooked. I subscribed immediately as I find the articles so relevant to my lifestyle. I am in the process of changing careers from having worked at Coutts Bank for 15 years as a director to transitioning to a naturopath, as I have found that this way of living has really helped my chronic health conditions become manageable.

I travel a lot so I’m happy to share those experiences. Last year a month in Nepal at a yoga retreat and this year Australia, plus a girls’ trip to Turkey and a trek to Machu Picchu. I hope to retire next year and start on my bucket list of travel plans.

At present, I spend my spare time coaching and mentoring others and really appreciated the bank allowing me to train and qualify as a life coach. I’m excited to be able to contribute!

KATHERINE’S LIFE LESSON:

● Have goals and surround yourself with positive, energetic people who support you – that way you feed off each other. I have 35 mentees at any one time (three of whom did a charity walk with me, above) and link them to create a network of like-minded individuals.

‘I was previously an ambassador – so pleased it’s continuing’

Marilyn Longden, 71, retired teacher from Wiltshire.

Platinum is my monthly treat! I enjoy articles like the Andrea McLean one and other articles about “real” people.

I’m pleased puzzles are back. Also, that you are including more affordable clothes as my pension doesn’t go as far as I’d like. Make-up/skin treatments etc are not for me (although I wear eye make-up) but I recognise that many folks are interested in them.

I’m a young 71, enjoy Pilates, Zumba, choir, travelling the world in our campervan (often living off grid), walking and cycling. My favourite walk is in my delightful town of Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire (above) along the river and canal. I’m lucky that the river is very close to my house. The water never fails to uplift me, and I see different things, people, boats and wildlife with each walk.
