Turkish caravans arrive in Leeds

The new Capsule Mini is lightweight and competitively priced

Compact model designed with UK market in mind

A NEW TURKISH caravan is going on sale for the first time in the UK this month, at the Leeds Caravan Centre.

Unlike previous Turkish caravans that have been sold in this country, the Capsule Mini, made by Umarsan Karavan, has a standard width and runs on an Al-Ko braked chassis with a shock absorber.

The van itself is made from a one-piece glass fibre shell, which comes with two different exterior colour schemes. You can have it with the lower half in grey, or go for an all-white option.

Leeds Caravan Centre, which already sells new Bailey and Xplore tourers, plans to sell the new model, which has an MTPLM of just 750kg, with a price starting at £16,995.

Standard fittings inside include 12V lighting – with switches and sockets all made to British standards – plus a 12V compressor fridge and a single gas ring. There is also a shower and a Porta Potti included, and there are USB ports, too. Water supplies reach the washroom and the kitchen via a Whale water pump.

All of the windows come with blinds and flyscreens, and all can be opened except for the window in the door. There is also a door flyscreen. As standard there is no heating, but a portable space heater and a water heater are available as options.

Other options include a motor mover, a solar panel and a roof light.

There is also the Mini R range, which is available in a white/orange or white/green exterior, and comes with window curtains, upgraded upholstery and a wheel trim.

Leeds Caravan Centre manager Ben Gibbons said, “It’s a brilliant little thing, super easy to tow and with an Al-Ko chassis. It has been specced to look British. We know how important that is for our customers.”
