Practical Classics is celebrating the 60th birthday of the Rover P6 with a very special example, one that you can buy. The 1972 3500, with only 54,000 miles, has been donated to the magazine by reader Stephen Dix for one very specific purpose, which is to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. ‘I’ve owned it for 20 years and it’s a lovely example, but now it’s time for it to go on a new adventure,’ Stephen told PC. ’I’ve been inspired by the magazine’s amazing support for charitable works, in particular Prostate Cancer UK, so I thought this would be another way to raise money.’

The P6 will be lightly recommissioned and go on a road trip with the magazine before being entered into the ICONIC Auction at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show next March. ICONIC have already agreed to waive their usual fees, ‘We would like to make it lot number 1 at the NEC next March,’ ICONIC boss Nick Whale told PC, ‘It’s a beautiful example and a worthy way to start the auction, let’s hope it raises a fine sum for PCUK.’

The V8 in Russet Brown is in great condition with only a few minor niggles… the paint on the top of the front wings has been nearly worn through due to over zealous polishing, ‘not guilty,’ says Stephen.
