TEAM ADVENTURE

Team PC has ventured north of the border many times, and every time we do we have fantastic classic adventures. Here are a few of our favourites

In search of Bond en route to Glen Etive.

PC’s Western Isles excursion: 2019

PC’s 2019 winter jaunt (PC, February 2020) saw us conquer the Western Isles of Harris and Lewis. These islands, located in the Outer Hebrides, boast a mix of dramatic coastlines with ice-white sandy coves, rugged mountains, and fabulous roads cutting through the Scottish wilderness. The journey up, too, offered spectacular vistas as we thrust our way across the country to the port of Ullapool. Back through Glen Coe, and a pilgrimage to the now infamous dead-end, single-track road to Glen Etive, which formed the backdrop for Bond’s ancestral home in Skyfall. Such enormous landscapes make it easy to forget the sheer distances covered in our group of heroic winter warriors: Ford Sierra, Fiat Panda, Nissan Micra, Peugeot 309 and Saab 900.

Smart to the East Coast: 2021

There’s an area of Scotland that’s often bypassed by folk steaming north towards the well-trodden NC500. East of the A9, that giant pointy bit sticking out into the North Sea is the home of what is now known as the ‘North East 250’.

From the wide expanses of the Moray Firth coast, to the rolling hills of Angus and countless Aberdeenshire coastal villages that still bustle with industry, it’s my favourite part of Scotland. A couple of years ago, I took my Smart up there. Many hours were spent darting down narrow coast-hugging roads near Portknockie, exploring peaceful paradise coves like Catterline and the harbours of Johnshaven and Montrose.

The roads inland were even more special. Via the brilliant Grampian Transport Museum, the roads wiggled their way across a lush green landscape to the Cairngorms. It's one beautiful corner of this incredible country.

Danny also bagged aHonda Insight on the Bluebell run.

PC’s Bluebell Rescue: 2017

I’ve done two John O’Groats jaunts with PC, one in a Model T we built on the field at the Beaulieu Autojumble in 2
