1976 Suzuki GT380

1991 World Snooker Champion John Parrott owned this bike for 17 years

Owner: Geoff Raine

Owned for: a few weeks

So far: getting reacquainted with an old favourite

What’s next: rear wheel build, frame powdercoat

Only had this for a couple of weeks so I can’t take any credit for it This is my second GT380, I had one when I was 18 – yes, some years ago now. It was the same colour as this one but had scrapes on the exhaust downpipes as we used to drag them on the floor. As you can see it’s in amazing condition, I believe mostly due to a Mr John Parrott who owned it for 17 years. It’s been lovingly restored with lots of genuine parts. There is a couple of things to do to make it perfect so I’ve started to collect some parts. So far I have a NOS rear wheel rim, and hopefully I’ll get the wheel rebuilt in the winter and I might have the frame powdercoated.

1994 Honda VFR750

Top job, Duane. Really nice

Owner: Duane Moss

Owned for: nine months

So far: fully disassembled, cleaned, and modified

What’s next: ride the wheels off it

I got this bike last summer in rough condition, and had a vision of a cross between Eddie Lawson’s Honda NSR500 and aTriumph SpeedTriple. I fabricated the headlight and clock mounts to accept Honda F4i 600 gauges. The paint was done by my lifelong buddy Rick. The wiring was the most challenging of all. Everything had to be relocated behind the steering head. Thanks to Ferret’s tips, I was good to go. Winters are long here in Newfoundland, Canada, so it’s a great time to tackle a good project bike. Thanks to your great magazine for giving me the inspiration.

1990 Kawasaki ZXR750 H2

So many riders with so many fond memories of ZXRs. Easy to understand why. Great machines

Owner: Wayne Hart

Owned for: eight months

So far: engine and paint refresh

What’s next: keep hunting an original exhaust

My latest purchase, a 1990 Kawasaki ZXR750 H2, means a lot to me as I first owned an identical one way back in 1993 and another black/silver H2 in 2010. The bike has been restored with plenty done in every area. Fairing panels and nose have been resprayed. The engine has had new piston rings fitted as well. It rides almost perfectly, though there is a little carb fluffiness low down. It’s just had its first run on the road which was marvellous, so many memories flooding back. What’s next is to add some carb cleaner to the fuel which hopefully may cure the stumbling.
