“Pink Floyd was one of the main bands that I grew up listening to, almost every day. There was a studio I went to as a kid, they had a wall full of CDs and one of the was The Division Bell. I saw the album cover I was like,‘Hey, what is this?’I listened, and that’s how I found them.

The effects they use for High Hopes – the bees and the church bells – bring so much atmosphere to the song, it almost feels like a Sunday morning. In A Great Day For Freedom you hear the baby crying, you hear noises, and it’s really visual. I visualise a really dark city; Pink Floyd could create a picture in my head like no other band, because they were telling a story.

I especially loved The Wall. When I listen to that music I always have a visual in mind, and when I watched the [1982] film version as a little girl, it was incredibly similar to the scene I imagined in my head. It was crazy! It sparked my own creativity for sure – they were an influence on me, 100 per cent.
