CRIME DRAMA

All 8 episodes available from Thursday on Netflix Guy Ritchie is the creator and, for the first two episodes, director of a drama that isn’t quite a spin-off from his 2019 movie of the same name: it’s still about organised criminals using country estates as cover for a cannabis-growing operation, but with all-new characters. Theo James, last seen as an incorrigible lothario in The White Lotus, plays Eddie, who develops a taste for illegality when he inherits his father’s mansion without realising it’s part of a weed empire. With Ray Winstone as the local ganja baron and Kaya Scodelario as his cocksure daughter, the series has all the sly swagger and knowing naughtiness of a Ritchie production, as the hidden worlds of the aristocracy and criminal gangs turn out not to be too dissimilar.
