Running dates for the Midland Pullman for 2024 should feature the Locomotive Services Limited HST powering 37 trips, with visits now advertised to Fort William, Oban, Whitby, Penzance, Llandudno, Bath, Carlisle, Minehead, Kingswear, Paignton and Durham.

The programme kicks off on March 5 with the ‘Whitby Jet’ trip from Shrewsbury to Whitby train, which is repeated on March 9 from Barrow-in-Furness.

The first of eight ‘Torbay Riviera Pullman’ trips is set for April 1 from Hull to Torquay and Paignton. These destinations are revisited on May 31 from Carlisle, June 27 from Crewe, July 9 from York, July 16 from Holyhead, August 14 from Chesterfield, August 21 from Norwich, and September 14 from Leeds.

On April 5, the ‘North Wales Coastal Pullman’ runs from Plymouth to Llandudno.

There are two ‘Cornish Riviera Pullman’ trips planned. These are three-day trips, with outward travel to Penzance on the Friday, a spare day on the Saturday, and a return on the Monday. Passengers need to source their own accommodation for two nights in or near Penzance.

The first trip is set for April 12 from Berwick-upon-Tweed. In between, on Saturday April 13, the Torbay & Dartmouth Pullman sets off from Penzance to take the HST set to Kingswear on the Paignton to Dartmouth Railway.

The second of these Cornish trips runs from Dumfries on August 30, returning north on September 1 with a ‘Bath Spa Pullman’ running in between on the Saturday from Penzance to Bath.

By far the most popular destination in the programme is the Settle-Carlisle Line, with 11 trips traversing the scenic 72-mile route and a mix of trains starting from the north, east and south.

The trains originating in the south head north over the S&C, and after a break in Carlisle return via the Cumbrian Coast line through Workington.

Those starting from the east also head north over Ais Gill and then return via Hexham and the Tyne Valley Line. Those from the north cover the route southbound and then head to Blackpool for a break.

The first ‘Settle to Carlisle & Coastal Pullman’ is from Wolverhampton on April 18 and will take in the Cumbrian Coast line. June 12 is a repeat train, starting at Gerrards Cross, June 22 is from Holyhead, July 4 is from Derby, and the last of these trips is from Watford on October 18.

The first of three ‘Settle to Carlisle & Blackpool Pullman’ trips is set to run on April 27 from Dundee, and is repeated on May 25 from Dundee, and then on July 27 from Perth.
