LAST YEAR SAW new petrol-powered motorcycle sales drop 1.2% compared with 2022, which actually isn’t such a bad performance considering the increase in the cost of living due to factors such as high interest rates and rapidly rising inflation.

But with inflation and interest rates now stabilising at about 5% (and both predicted to remain fairly static or gradually fall during 2024), buyer confidence is returning – and that means manufacturers are doing their best to tempt you to part with your money.

So, if you’re after a brand-new bike for 2024, what are the best bargains?

Best finance deals

Kawasaki is chasing the new rider market by offering 4.9% HP and 5.9% PCP rates on all 2023 bikes under 650cc, compared to the 9.9% rates on the rest of its range.

Suzuki is running 4.9% deals, with £750 cash off the Hayabusa and GSX-S1000 and GT; KTM has 4.9% on its 125, 390 and 790s; and BMW is offering 1.9% APR on the outgoing 2023 S1000XR. If you’re looking to finance a bike, these are the best deals.

Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Triumph, KTM and Ducati are all offering 9.9% on HP and PCP across their ranges, with a few discounted exceptions here and there. BMW is offering 8.9%, Harley-Davidson 10.9%.

Best official discounts

Triumph is discounting its Tiger 1200 range through a £2750 (Rally) or £2000 (GT) so-called ‘personalisation contribution’, which can be used on accessories or as a deposit contribution. The offer also extends to £1500 off the Scrambler XE and XC (MY23), £500 off the Trident 660, £1500 off the Speed Triple RR and £1000 off the Speed Triple RS.

BMW is offering deposit contributions of £1000 on the S1000RR and R; £1800 on the R18 range; £1000 on the R1250GSA/GS, R nineT, F900R/XR, and F-Series GS and GSA. There’s also £1250 off the K1600 models, £600 off the G310s and £750 off the R1250 RT, R and RS.

The biggest discounts

But the biggest discounts come from Kawasaki and KTM. Kawasaki has a staggering £3000 off the 2023 Ninja H2 SX or Z H2 models (including SEs), and £1000 off the 2023 ZX-10R, Ninja SX and Versys 1000 family when bought on PCP. KTM has £3000 off the 2023 Super Duke R, Evo and GT, with £2000 off Super Adventure S and R, and £1000 off the 790 Duke, 890 Duke GP and 890 Duke R.
