Agreat cause

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has just announced its line-up for the iconic Bike4Life Ride Out and Festival and I thought I would drop you a line to let you know what’s happening.

The annual event, organised by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, is one of the biggest ride-outs in the country, attracting more than 6000 people every year.

A 26-mile convoy will depart Meole Brace in Shrewsbury on Sunday April 28 and arrive at Weston Park, Shifnal. A host of celebrity bikers have announced their attendance at this year’s event, including Carl Fogarty, James Whitham, Steve Parrish, Ollie Ollerton, Allen Millyard and Elspeth Beard. For more information, check out bike4lifefest.com.

That sounds like an awesome event and for an amazing cause. Air ambulances around the country do a superb job and we hope the ride-out goes well. In the meantime, have some Oxford cleaning products to give away as aprize during the event. JB

The MINT range is split into CLEAN, DETAIL, MAINTAIN and we’re kicking off CLEANING. oxfordproducts.com

This was a ‘moment of madness’ from myself and I’ve vowed to make every issue of RiDE from Wales until Ican travel the Welsh Lake District blindfolded. MW

Anti-van man #1

I was interested in the article on unmarked speed trap vans (April issue). Suffice it to say, I thought they needed to be visible to deter speeding and maintain public trust. Or is it all about money because the motorist is an easy cash cow?

Policing in the UK is done by consent, and there is little respect for police now as it is. This will only make the situation worse as your average biker (and driver) will become anti-police and turn against them. The motorist has had enough and I can see things turning ugly very soon.

Anti-van man #2

The article relating to stealth speed cameras in the April issue has prompted me to pass comment.

My problem comes with police forces stating that they are using these covert vans in an attempt to reduce road casualties – when retrospectively issuing fixed penalty notices is not doing any such thing. Uninsured or unregi
