Hello everyone. Here we are at the start of another festive season: boxes of decorations dusted off, gift-buying lists made, turkey ordered, and perhaps a few Christmas get-togethers (or gatherings, as my sons call them) already in the diary.
There is certainly plenty of good cheer in our personal finance business, Saga Money, where colleagues have been beavering away for months on the launch of several exciting and innovative new products.
First up, our new Saga Legal Services, launched in partnership with Co-op Legal Services, gives access to advice on estate planning and probate services, from standard will drafting to more complex inheritance tax solutions and protection of assets.
We know that not everyone has got round to drafting a will, and for those who have, it can be hard to keep on top of reviewing it as regularly as you might want. Our new service offers a free legal review to our customers in England and Wales to ensure your arrangements offer the right level of protection and meet all needs, helping to give complete peace of mind.
We have also launched the Saga Savings Platform with Flagstone, one of the UK’s leading cash deposit platforms. The platform gives customers a carefully curated choice of competitive fixed rate accounts from a range of UK banks – and the beauty of it is that all are accessible by completing just the one application form. It cuts out the painful process of chasing the best interest rates, then filling in the numerous application forms and ID checks needed to move your money. This way, we make it so much easier to keep your money working hard for you. To me, this feels like a game-changer in personal finance.
We’re not finished there, though. Several other exciting new products are on the horizon, including a range of family support mortgages, enabling you to help loved ones on to the property ladder. Watch this space.
