Star letter

Thank you for bringing Malta to our attention (May). Your travel piece beautifully depicted the island, so when we booked on a cruise we made sure Valletta, the capital, was one of the stops. Article in hand, we sought out the recommended wine bar Trabuxu for lunch, which didn’t disappoint. WRITE IN TO WIN

Our star letter writer, Susan, wins 12 bottles of Moulin-à- Vent Château des Jacques, plus a bottle opener. The Château des Jacques estate in Moulin-à-Vent has been a key part of the Louis Jadot family for more than 20 years, and is now considered one of the most prestigious in Beaujolais. This particular Cru pairs perfectly with roast duck and hard cheeses.

I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this before – it caters to our needs perfectly. JEANETTE, GLASGOW

THE GOOD LIFE

We have been allotment holders for years and are always on the look out for ways to make use of surplus fruit and veg. August’s edition did not disappoint. It arrived on a Thursday – by that evening I had baked the courgette, lemon and pistachio cake (yes, we grow our own lemons).
