Last month, we invited some friends for dinner. At short notice, two dropped out and we invited a couple we had only recently met. They accepted… and then told us they were both vegan! Help!! I sat down with a cup of tea, wondering what to do. Picking up the Sainsbury’s magazine my sister had just passed on to me, it opened to your tomato tarte tatin recipe. Perfect! It wasn’t difficult and went down a storm. So thank you for saving the day.

IN A PICKLE

Yesterday, strolling around our garden, we commented on how well our first attempt at growing cucumbers was going, and I said to my hubby – I can make cucumber pickle! I still have a copy of the magazine from 2007 with a cucumber, ginger and chilli pickle recipe that was an accompaniment to poached salmon. It’s still a family favourite!

KITCHEN AID

I’ve been a subscriber for a number of years, and I love receiving my copy every month. We are currently building a new kitchen – my home is a building site and I’m having to make do with just a microwave.
