Any 4ply cotton yarn will work for this make, but be sure to pick a contrasting shade (or several) for maximum impact.
SHOE EMBELLISHMENTS STAR MOTIF (MAKE 2)
Make 1 for each shoe. Using a 3mm hook, ch5, ss to first ch to form a ring.
Round 1 Ch5 (counts as tr, ch2), (tr into ring, ch2) 7 times, ss into third of beg ch-5. [8 ch-2 sps] Round 2 Ch1 (does not count as a st throughout), dc in first st, (3dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next tr) 7 times, 3dc into last ch-2 sp, ss to first dc. [32 dc] Round 3 Ch1, dc in first st, *ch5, dc in second ch from hook, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, dtr in last ch, skip 3 sts
