CROCHET CAST-ON

Make a slip knot on the crochet hook. Hold the knitting needle in your left hand and the crochet hook in your right and place the hook on top of the needle, close to the tip. Take the end of the yarn from the hook around the back of the needle and then over towards the hook. Hook the yarn with the hook and pull it through the slip knot, creating a chain stitch on the hook, and a loop on the needle. Repeat this process, (pulling the yarn through the chain stitch rather than the slip knot), until you have one less stitch than you need on the needle. Transfer the last chain from the hook onto the needle to make your last stitch.
