SANTA BUNTING

Once knitted tuck a cheery Santa into his sleigh

Notes Unless otherwise specified, use the longtail cast-on for all pieces and use mattress stitch (p86) to sew seams. Work most pieces flat on single-pointed needles, not in the round. The DPNs are used to knit i-cord pieces for the reindeers’ legs. The reindeer body uses short rows for shaping, and the wraps and turns prevent holes forming at the ends of the short rows. Pick up the wraps as you encounter them later. Sl1 is always worked purl-wise with yarn on the WS. A doll-making needle is a long sewing needle and is used to thread the characters onto fishing line for hanging the decoration.

This is the body of the sleigh that holds Santa and his sack.
