■ A pair of 5.5mm needles

■ 40cm of scrap yarn to mark row

■ 2 clear buttons, 23mm diameter

TENSION

17 sts and 32 rows to measure 10x10cm using st st and 5.5mm needles

HOW TO USE OUR CHARTS

Start at the bottom right-hand corner. Read right side rows from right to left and wrong side rows from left to right. A row of squares represents a row of knitting

Notes If preferred, miss the charts and work the first 48 rows in Yarn A instead.

Chart notes There are two charts worked on the main cosy. RS rows are worked from right to left and WS rows left to right. The chart begins on a right-side row. The chart is worked using the intarsia technique.

MAIN COVER

Cast on 34 sts using 5.5mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (RS) K2, *P2, K2; rep from * to end.

Row 2 P2, *K2, P2; rep from * to end.

Repeat the last 2 rows once more.

Starting with a RS knit row, work in st st through 48 rows of Chart A, bringing in other yarns where needed.

Continue in Yarn B.

Row 53 Knit. Mark this row as you go using the scrap yarn, or sew running stitches in the back loops once you have finished.

Row 54 Purl.

Row 55 Knit.

Row 56 (folding row) K1, *yo, k2tog, K1; rep from * to end. [34 sts]

Row 57 Knit.

Row 58 Purl.

Row 59 *Pick up the first available back loop from the marked sts onto left-hand needle and knit this loop together with the next stitch on needle; rep from * to end. [34
