STAR LETTER

Miss Piggy and Kermit were knitted by Philip for charity£5O GIFT CARD

PUTTING ON A SHOW

I made these two knitted toys for the Mothers’ Union shop in Sydney NSW to sell for their charity. I learnt to knit at the age of eight from my mother, 68 years ago. Over the last 30 years I have been making toys for family and friends and lately for charity.

Philip McCauley

These are truly spectacular Philip, with such accurate detail. They must have been difficult to part with, but donating to charity is such a lovely thing to do.

QUEEN OF HEARTS

Eileen’s Diana silhouette is a knitted memorial to a very special lady

This is a black and white silhouette portrait of Princess Diana I’ve knitted using a chart I designed myself and chunky yarn on 6mm needles. I made it because I met Diana in 1992 on her visit to North Devon, and she was so kind to me – she has always held a special place in my heart.

Eileen Whetter

What an incredible likeness! I’m sure Diana would have been thrilled with it.

IN LOVING MEMORY

I thought I’d take the time to share with you some of my nan’s knitting. I know she’d be over the moon if you would share this with others in Simply Knitting magazine. Over the years, for many different occasions, my nan always remembers my little boy by knitting something for him, whether it be birthdays, anniversaries, Halloween or Christmas. Here’s some from Halloween and Remembrance Day.

Kerrie Wilson

I can’t imagine how much this means to you Kerrie. What a wonderful nan you have to knit the most amazing things, such as these, for your little boy.
